Editor Process & Responsibilities

The editorial process in The Journal of Palembang Nursing Studies consists of six steps.

Editorial Review Stage: The Editor-in-Chief will review all submitted manuscripts initially for suitability for formal review. Unoriginal or insufficiently original manuscripts are rejected before they can be submitted for formal peer review. Other reasons for rejection include serious scientific or technical flaws, a particularly high rate of similarity with prior publications (plagiarism), or a lack of a significant statement. Manuscripts that are unlikely to be of interest to the readers of the JPNS are likewise at risk of being rejected at this point. It only takes one to seven days for the editorial evaluation to be completed.

Peer-Review Stage: The peer-review stage employs a "double-blind" review with a minimum of two independent referees in the subjects. The peer-review process can be seen here.

Editorial Decision Stage: After receiving the response from two referees, the editor or section editor will make a decicion for the submission to Editor-in-Chief and the final decision will be taken by Editor-in-Chief.

Copyediting stage: Manuscripts accepted for publication are copy edited for grammar, punctuation, print style, and format. A page proof in doc. the format is sent to the corresponding author. The corresponding author is expected to return the corrected proofs within seven days.

Proofreading & layout editing stage: The proofreader will send the final proof of the article in pdf format with a fixed journal layout. There is no significant change in this stage. Authors are only required to check their names and affiliations and writing format (typos, grammar, punctuation, and layout format). The corresponding author is expected to return the final proof within five days.

Published Online: JPNS provides an article in the press which means the article is published before the issue. To achieve faster and greater dissemination of knowledge and information, the journal publishes articles online as 'Current Publication' immediately after proofreading. Next, it will be included in the upcoming issue.

Overall, the publication process from submission to publish will be 8-14 weeks
